ZEISS is sponsoring Images from Science 3, a traveling exhibition celebrating the world’s most extraordinary images and image makers who explore science. The exhibition, a collaboration between Rochester Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University, will premier in late November 2019.

The exhibition will first be displayed at RIT’s City Space, located in downtown Rochester, NY and will then travel to Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD. The exhibit will then be available for travel to other venues. Contact Michael Peres at mrppph@rit.edu for information on hosting the display.

Unlike most other genres, science images rarely find their way into art museums. Since 2002, the Images from Science project has worked to showcase and expand the reach of these images, bringing them into the public eye.

Images from Science 3 will showcase up to 75 extraordinary still and moving images that reveal science in new and unique ways. The exhibit will also feature computer generated images (CGI), including animations and illustrations, unlike prior exhibitions. Both new and recognized image-makers are invited to submit their extraordinary illustrations, animations, photographs, and short-run videos for consideration. Student images will also be included. The images for inclusion will be selected by an international panel of experts.

Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 2018 and image makers will be notified if their submission has been accepted in spring 2019.
