Weston Umstead, Ph.D. Promoted to Technology & Business Development Manager for Chiral Technologies, Inc.

WEST CHESTER, Pa (December 10, 2020) — Chiral Technologies, Inc. today announced the promotion of Weston Umstead, Ph.D., as the company’s new Technology and Business Development Director.

Umstead joined Chiral Technologies in 2016 as a chemist working in the company’s Diffinity Genomics division. He was soon promoted to Technology Manager at the end of 2018, where he managed the Chiral analytical and preparative method development projects, engaged in new technology efforts related to the core chiral business, as well as synthetic chemistry responsibilities to support Daicel Arbor Biosciences and Diffinity Genomics.

In his new role as Technology and Business Development Manager, Umstead will continue to oversee the Method Development department, providing technical support for chiral columns and technical content for marketing, in addition to taking on responsibility for sales of our Custom Chiral Separation projects. Umstead will handle all project management activities and will be the point of contact for all customer interactions.

“I’m excited that Wes has accepted this new role. Project objectives can shift quickly so it’s important to be able to pivot our efforts in the lab equally as fast. Wes’s combined role, managing both the technical and business side of the project, will greatly benefit our customers and help to ensure smooth project flow, from method development through production,” said Lisa Newton, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Chiral Technologies, Inc.
