SnapGene Releases New Integration with LabArchives

Scientists can now use SnapGene software together with the LabArchives ELN.Chicago, IL and Carlsbad, CA – July 31, 2018

GSL Biotech has released a new integration to enable SnapGene software to connect seamlessly with LabArchives, the leading cloud-based Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) platform.

SnapGene specializes in the visualization and simulation of molecular biology procedures and LabArchives enables researchers to store all of their research data records in a secure, compliant online platform. Among the data which can be stored in LabArchives are cloning protocols and plasmid sequences.

Now, SnapGene users can upload sequence files directly to their LabArchives notebook. And, users can open SnapGene files from their notebooks on LabArchives. All changes to any file will be recorded and stored in the LabArchives platform, including automatic full versioning.

This integration takes advantage of the strengths of both companies while giving common customers significant added flexibility and convenience.

The companies have stated this is a first level integration, with a deeper integration in development.

About GSL BiotechGSL Biotech was founded by scientists and software designers to meet the everyday needs of molecular biologists. GSL’s SnapGene desktop software (snapgene.com) is used in more than fifty countries, in virtually every major research institution, and in most of the largest pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide. The software provides a simple yet powerful way for researchers to plan, visualize, document, and share their everyday molecular biology procedures. Free trials of the software are available from the SnapGene website. In addition to SnapGene, GSL Biotech offers the free SnapGene Viewer, which includes the key visualization tools of SnapGene and allows researchers to make DNA maps and design primers, as well as SnapGene Server, which allows interactive DNA maps to be displayed in a web browser.
