Directorate Changes

5 December 2016 – Spectris plc (‘Spectris’) (LSE: SXS), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, today announces the following changes to its Board:

Peter Chambré stepped down as a Non-executive Director at the conclusion of the Spectris Board meeting held on 2 December. He was appointed in August 2006 and has completed over ten years’ service on the Board.

Dr John Hughes advised the Board that he will stand down as Chairman and Director on appointment of a successor. He was appointed a Non-executive Director in June 2007 and Chairman in May 2008.

Dr Hughes said: “I would like to thank Peter for the significant contribution he has made to the Spectris Board over his ten year tenure and wish him well for the future.

“I will shortly have served nine years as Chairman and ten years as a Director of Spectris. In the interests of good governance and also given the strong strategic and operating initiatives that we have launched, I feel that the timing is right for a new Chairman to be appointed.”

The Nomination Committee has initiated a process to find his successor and a further announcement will be made in due course.
