Bio-Techne Introduces CE-SDS PLUS for Maurice™ System

Minneapolis, January 28, 2019/PRNewswire/ — Bio-Techne today announced the launch of the CE-SDS PLUS system for its ProteinSimple-branded Maurice™ platform. This new system further expands the usability of Maurice’s proprietary cartridge and reduces undesirable protein fragmentation during separation.

Since its introduction in 2016, Maurice has enabled capillary electrophoresis – sodium dodecyl sulfate (CE-SDS) for size-based separation across a broad range of molecules. The CE-SDS PLUS system includes a new cartridge, a novel sample buffer, and a new version of ‘Compass for iCE’ software. These advances will enable researchers to obtain superior data consistency, significantly increased injection number per cartridge, and a more accurate analysis of proteins susceptible to fragmentation. In addition, the gold-standard, ‘whole-column’ imaging technology Maurice employs is augmented with an additional fluorescence filter for broader applications in charge heterogeneity analysis.

Dave Eansor, President of Bio-Techne’s Protein Sciences Segment, commented, “We continue to develop robust tools that simplify applications and remove complexity, enabling researchers to focus on their science. Maurice brings a new level of data reproducibility and ease-of-use to the CE market. We are excited to introduce CE-SDS PLUS to our customers for further enhancement of size-based characterization and purity analysis.”

Maurice CE-SDS PLUS will be unveiled at WCBP 2019, which is being held January 29-31, 2019, in Washington, D.C., USA. Learn more about the Maurice system at www.proteinsimple.com/maurice.
