The Board of Spectris plc (SXS: LSE), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, announces that Andrew Heath will join the Board as Chief Executive Designate with effect from 3 September 2018.
In May, the Company announced that John O’Higgins, Chief Executive of Spectris plc, had informed the Board of his intention to retire from the Board and that a search for his successor had commenced. The Board is delighted to have recruited Andrew Heath to succeed John O’Higgins who will work closely with Andrew during September to ensure a smooth transition. John will step down from the Board and the role of Chief Executive no later than 28 September 2018, when Andrew will assume the role of Chief Executive of Spectris plc. John will remain available to support Andrew and the Board until 23 May 2019.
Andrew brings a wide range of executive and leadership expertise to Spectris, with proven experience in technology enabled businesses and a track record of delivering shareholder value. He previously served as CEO of Imagination Technologies Group plc from 2016 to 2018* and before that was CEO of Alent plc**. Prior to this, Andrew had a 30 year career with Rolls Royce plc where he held a number of international and management roles, latterly serving as the President of Energy from 2010 to 2015.
