SciAps, Inc. a Boston-based company specializing in handheld analytical instrumentation, is pleased to announce that Mr. Vito Angona has joined the company in the role of Managing Director, Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the “DACH” countries). SciAps will be opening a German-based subsidiary SciAps Germany in Krefeld, just outside of Dusseldorf. The German subsidiary will be responsible for sales, service, applications and marketing of the SciAps market-leading handheld LIBS analyzer for carbon and other elements in alloys, and their line of handheld XRF analyzers, all within the DACH countries.

Mr. Angona joins SciAps having more than 25 years experience in developing and selling portable analytical instruments. He began his career in mobile and stationary spark OES for Spectro (Kleve, Germany), and most recently managing the global sales for Hitachi XRF, LIBS and OES products.

“I’m very happy to once again be working with Vito,” says SciAps CEO and co-founder Don Sackett. “I first met Vito more than 20 years ago when I was introduced their spark OES systems before his move to Oxford, then Hitachi. I’m much happier to be working with him than competing against him now!”

SciAps is a rapidly growing company specializing in handheld analytical instruments. The company offers state-of-the-art handheld LIBS analyzers for alloys including carbon in steels and stainless, environmental, mining and general analytical applications specifically those that require measurement of low atomic number elements not accessible by handheld XRF. Complementing the LIBS is the latest handheld XRF series, the X-5 series. The X-5’s are the smallest, lightest weight and highest performing handheld XRF units ever created.Vito Angona
