Release of four type of Bi-plane angiography system, Trinias series unity edition supporting interventional cardiology, interventional neuroradiology and pediatric interventions

Shimadzu Corporation has been released four models of Bi-plane type as one of the Trinias series unity edition, a minimally invasive angiography system supporting interventional cardiology, interventional neuroradiology and pediatric interventions on January 19th.

The angiography system is an X-ray imaging system used for catheter-based intervention such as stent placement to dilate stenosed blood vessels, and for examination of vascular diseases. It is possible to reduce the contrast medium as compared with a single C-arm type and shorten treatment time, since the Bi-plane type can perform fluoroscopy and acquisition from two directions using two imaging chains. In particular, it is used for interventional cardiology, interventional neuroradiology and pediatric interventions.

Compared to the single plane system, the Bi-plane system, can shorten the treatment time and reduce the contrast medium usage by about 50% in some cases. In addition, the new application “SCORE StentShot” that enhances the visibility of stents is now on release for a total of 14 models of Trinias series unity edition including the new products.

Due to the low invasiveness compared to surgical treatment, and the miniaturization and advancement of treatment devices are progressing, interventional procedures has advanced in recent years. We will continue to focus on developing new technology for the angiography system.
