ELS-2040/2041 Evaporative Light Scattering Detector

JASCO is pleased to announce the release of the ELS-2040/2041 series of Evaporative Light Scattering Detectors. The JASCO ELSD can be utilized for a wide range of analytical techniques, including HPLC, LC/MS, and SFC. The range of application areas is equally broad, encompassing pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, combinatorial libraries, carbohydrates, lipids, phospholipids, triglycerides, fatty acids, amino acids, polymers and surfactants. Offering unrivalled flexibility and sensitivity, the JASCO ELS-2040/2041 series is the ELSD of choice for the most demanding applications.

The JASCO ELSD utilizes a patented gas flow control system to remove the mobile phase with high efficiency using a short evaporation tube. Other ELSD systems require a long evaporation tube for evaporation of the mobile phase at ambient temperatures, resulting in band broadening. The patented gas flow technology of the JASCO ELSD systems reduces the evaporation time of the mobile phase at low temperatures by adding dry gas during evaporation, maintaining very sharp chromatographic peaks.

In addition, the ELSD has an independent temperature-controlled nebulizer for excellent stability and reproducibility. The heated nebulizer eliminates precipitation of the mobile phase and provides a stable nebulization. The ELS-2040/2041 also offers the widest temperature range possible, from 10 to 120°C.
