DNAnexus Announces Two Key Executive Appointments

Industry veterans bring extensive expertise and insight as DNAnexus powers increasingly complex precision medicine projects

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DNAnexus Inc., the global leader in genome informatics and data management, today announced the promotion of George Asimenos, Ph.D. to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the addition of Fan Fan, Ph.D. as Vice President of Product Management.

Asimenos has been with DNAnexus since its inception and has played a critical role in building the company’s scientific and engineering foundation most recently as vice president, strategic projects. As CTO, he will work closely with product management and engineering to ensure that the company continues to deliver value through its current and future products. Prior to DNAnexus, he conducted research at Stanford University and National Technical University of Athens in comparative metagenomics, silicon compilers for reconfigurable hardware, and elliptic curve cryptanalysis. He holds a Ph.D. in computational biology from Stanford University, where he helped analyze the human genome as part of the ENCODE Pilot Project.

As Vice President of Product Management, Fan will drive product strategy, working closely with prospects, customers, and the DNAnexus team. Fan joins DNAnexus from Adobe, where she served as Principal of Product Management responsible for cloud-based document productivity services. Prior to Adobe, she led Product Management at Model N directly engaging with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including Merck and Amgen. Fan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Science and Technology of China, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California.
