Development of IoT Service Portal ExTOPE for Hitachi High-Tech Equipment

– Cloud-Based Sharing and Usage of Data from Equipment –

Tokyo, Japan, August 8, 2017 – Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (TSE: 8036, Hitachi High-Tech) has announced the development of ExTOPE as an integrated IoT service portal for the equipment it makes. This portal will collect, store and manage measurement data and equipment operation data produced by Hitachi High-Tech equipment. This Hitachi High-Tech exclusive cloud-based service will enable customers to share and analyze data among a range of support capabilities aimed at improving operating efficiency.

Hitachi High-Tech supplies a wide range of analytical instruments such as electron microscopes, as well as semiconductor manufacturing equipment, manufacturing and inspection equipment, and measurement control systems. In recent years, the evolution of IoT and AI technologies has enabled the collection and analysis of data gathered from equipment and sensors in R&D and manufacturing sites and this is expected to help boost efficiency and create new value. Due to this background, it has become more important to prepare and supply methods which enable customers to view, share and manage the data easily even if the data has been collected by different equipment in different places. Hitachi High-Tech is required to build a service portal to collect, store and manage the data produced by this equipment for its timely, efficient utilization.

Hitachi High-Tech will provide a portal, ExTOPE, which will provide cloud-based collection, centralized management and utilization of the data produced by Hitachi High-Tech equipment. The portal will allow users to view measurement data, monitor equipment status, and share an operating screen remotely. Hitachi High-Tech also plans to provide applications to create a user environment that caters to a variety of needs such as remote maintenance or data analysis.
These services will enable capabilities such as joint operations between remote locations by remote analysis or sharing of data. By supplying state-of-the-art instruments linked to the ExTOPE service portal, Hitachi High-Tech aims to help customers boost operating efficiency and create new value.

Going forward, the Company aims to be a global leader in the high-tech solutions business while responding quickly to customer and market needs from a customer-centric viewpoint as an enterprise that seeks to create businesses in advanced fields.
